Between 2017 and 2020, Bill made three expeditions to the remote Auckland Islands south of New Zealand, filming the incredible gatherings of southern right whales in those waters.
On one of these trips, he was working for the BBC Natural History Unit on the series "Seven Worlds, One Planet."
